UKIP Announces Adoption of Simon Smedley As Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the North East Somerset Constituency

UKIP Bath and North East Somerset Branch announces that the local party has adopted Simon Smedley as its Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the North East Somerset constituency in the event of a General Election.

Mr Smedley gained a degree in Urban Estate Management and then qualified as a Chartered Surveyor when he was 23. He speaks Italian, French and German. He worked in the West End and City of London and then in Bristol in the commercial property sector. He worked on secondment to Her Majesty’s Prison Service in London and he has seen the inside of many prisons, which provided him with an insight into our penal system and the workings of Whitehall.
Mr Smedley moved from London to Somerset in 2001 with his family and has three growing up/grown up children. Simon has been a local Churchwarden for 10 years. He is keen on amongst other things country life; walking; pubs; squash, flying; motoring and politics/current events.

Mr Smedley’s priorities are to keep up the pressure for Brexit and continue to fight to deliver the decision of the British people.

Mr Smedley said; “Our country has a strong future. I believe anything worth having is worth fighting for and we must continue to wrangle our country back from the politically correct sheep who would give up and give away our country’s hard won freedoms and privileges to those who shout loudest. The biggest challenge facing humanity is population crisis and we must open our hearts to the world, but not our borders nor our long established and cherished way of life”.
